A tale of race, love and war.
From pre-war Britain in 1914 to the race riots of 1919 we follow the lives of William James, a black British soldier and Edith Booth, a Northerner new to London. When William and Edith fall in love during one of Britain’s most devastating periods in history they thought their hardest battle would be surviving the war but fighting prejudice on the home front proves almost as challenging.
This November, to commemorate the centenary of the armistice, Home Truths will hold a research and development process over three days culminating in a rehearsed reading of parts of the play on the evening of 7th November. This will be followed by a Q&A with the director, writer and cast.
Lest We Forget by Charlotte Green is the debut play for Home Truths. Come and be the first to see the preview of this brand new play.
